About Us

The Uttarakhand Parvatiya Aajeevika Sanvardhan Company (UPASaC) is an Uttarakhand state'sown Venture Capital Company, which is formed under the help of auspices Uttaranchal Gramya Vikas Samiti. It is established by the state government to implement the IFAD funded Uttaranchal Livelihoods Improvement schemes for the Himalaya (ULIPH) which is popularly acknowledged as Aajeevika project. The Company has been registered Under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956.

Objective of Uttarakhand Livelihood Improvement Project For The Himalayas

With the sheer motto of UPASaC is to determine, scout, help the nurture entrepreneurship of the people from the bottom line of the society so as to help them create their own wealth, come up with innovative financial tools and ultimately alleviate poverty. This encouraging approach will apparently support community institutions to develop cordial relationships with the formal financial institution to come up with bankable, sustainable and equitable business iced with positive environmental,social, gender impact in the project area.

Business Approach of Uttarakhand Livelihood Improvement Project For The Himalayas

UPASaC emphasizes on the Sub-sector Business Service (SBS) approach in which livelihood enhancement is attended by developing micro enterprises scouted through Sub sector Business Development Services (BDS) analysis. The SBS strategy consists of eight steps which include sub sector selection, sub sector analysis, identification of constraints and opportunities, identification of business services around the sub sector, selection of business services, assessment of business services, identification & selection of facilitation activities of support interventions across the value chain in the sub sector.
